Lifelong Learning in the Biomedical Sciences

Conference
Date: 05-Jul-2016 to 07-Jul-2016

We would like to draw your attention to a major event which directly results from the activities of imi-train, EMTRAIN and LifeTrain related to education and training in the biomedical sciences:

On behalf of the organising committee we cordially invite you to attend the EMBL Conference on “Lifelong Learning in the Biomedical Sciences”. This conference is a new international forum to bring together the key influencers, policymakers, trainers and stakeholders from academia, industry and the professional bodies who will shape and implement how career-long continuing professional development is managed in the future. It will encompass career-long continuing professional development for both the academic and industry sectors.

The conference will take place in Heidelberg, Germany on 5-7 July 2016 (www.embl.de/training/events/2016/LLL16-01).

Participating will provide you with:

  • insight in the latest developments in education and training for biomedical professionals relevant to academia as well as the pharmaceutical and biotech industries
  • means to empower individual professionals to manage their own continuing professional development (CPD)
  • an introduction to the concept of competency as effective means for effective career planning as well as to support recruitment and retention of key staff
  • opportunities to network with decision makers and professionals from key areas
  • a choice of interactive workshops to assist delegates to implement continuing professional development practices or contribute to further discussions of conference topics

There are many ways to actively participate in the conference including a poster session, Showcase event and selected Workshops on day 3. We invite you to submit your abstract and/or workshop proposal by 28 April 2016 (deadline extended). General registration to the conference is open until 19 May 2016. We are looking forward to your registration and to seeing you in Heidelberg!
