The Institute of Biology of the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin is seeking a Post Doctoral Research Assistant to conduct research on enzymes involved in the energy metabolism at the Laboratory for Structural Biology / Biochemistry (headed by Prof. Dr. Holger Dobbek) of the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (see:http://www.biologie.hu-berlin.de/gruppenseiten-en/struktbio). The successful candidate will also be involved in the operation of the BESSY II bio-macromolecular crystallography beamlines (headed by Dr. Uwe Mueller & Dr. Manfred Weiss) (see: http://www.helmholtz-berlin.de/bessy-mx/) and will take part in graduate student education. Initially, a three-year contract will be offered to the successful candidate with the possibility for an extension. The position is available immediately. Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in the biological, chemical or physical sciences and have a background in bio-macromolecular crystallography, biochemistry or computational chemistry. The position also requires the documented ability to conduct independent research as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
