13th European Biophysics Conference (EBSA)

In summer 2021 Vienna will welcome up to 1000 biophysicists from all over the world joining the EBSA 2021 Conference! EBSA (European Biophysical Societies' Association) is the umbrella organisation of all European Biophysical societies. The EBSA Conference is the most important biophysics conference in Europe and is held every second year in a different European Country.

The Austrian Biophysical Society (Biophysics Austria) won the bid for organizing the Conference in 2017. Biophysics Austria, founded in 1961, is amongst the oldest biophysical societies in Europe. It hosted the first European meeting in biophysics 50 years ago, 1971 in Baden.

Together with the organizing & scientific committee, the Conference Chair Univ. Prof. Dr. med. Elena E. Pohl, Vice President of Biophysics Austria and Vice President of EBSA, is currently creating an inspiring first-class scientific program. The absolute highlights will be the plenary talks of the Nobel Prize Laureates Ada Yonath from Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel, and Thomas Suedhof from Stanford University, USA. Together with many talks by other world leading experts in the field this guarantees an utmost interesting program for the biophysical and life science community. Every participant of the congress including students will get the unique opportunity to present and discuss their newest research.

In addition, the EBSA Conference is an ideal time and place to meet partners from industry and to establish new professional connections. The EBSA exhibition starts together with the welcome
reception of the EBSA 2021 Conference. Many exhibitors on site throughout the conference complete the informative scientific topics of the conference by adding all the important industrial aspects of Biophysics.
